Academic Discussion (Remote Work)

The pandemic has changed the way we work, with many companies adopting remote work policies. Some companies are now asking employees to return to the office full-time, while others are staying fully remote or hybrid. There are pros and cons to both approaches regarding productivity and company culture.
Do you think companies should allow employees to work remotely permanently, or should they require them to come to the office? Why?
I strongly believe companies should allow permanent remote work. It saves so much time on commuting, which employees can use to rest or be with their families. This leads to a better work-life balance and higher job satisfaction, which ultimately makes employees more productive.
I disagree. I think working in the office is better for collaboration. When you are face-to-face, it's easier to brainstorm ideas and solve problems quickly. Also, remote work can be isolating. Being in the office helps build a strong team culture and a sense of belonging.
